 FAQ's

FAQ's

I downloaded the fonts but all I got was a .zip file?

You'll need a utility like WinZip (PC-Users) or ZipIt (Mac-Users) to unzip the archive.

How do I install fonts in Windows?

Please follow our tutorial 'Installing TrueType Fonts in Windows 95/98/2000/XP/Vista'.

How do I install fonts on my Macintosh?

Please follow our tutorial 'Installing Fonts on a Macintosh'.

What's the difference between TrueType and Postscript?

As a general rule, if you don't know the difference, go with TrueType. Postscript is used in conjunction with Adobe Type Manager to print to Postscript compatible printers. TrueType in that sense is more compatible and widely used. Typically only professional graphic designers need/use Postscript.

I want to make my own fonts. Can you tell me how?

A good starting point is a scan of your handwriting. The guys from High-Logic wrote a good how-to page that tells you pretty much everything you need to know for your start.

My question is not answered here. Where can I get more font information?

The comp.fonts FAQ by Norman Walsh gives you an answer to nearly every font question.
